Declan O’Connor, a member of the Fond du Lac High School Class of 2025, is well on his way to launching a career in steam-fitting thanks to Moraine Park’s dual enrollment programs. Through his participation in Moraine Park’s Start College Now program and the Robotics, Engineering and Manufacturing (REM) Academy, O’Connor earned 19 college credits before his high school graduation next spring.
By May 2025, O’Connor will have completed Moraine Park’s Manufacturing Fundamentals Certificate and Automated Manufacturing Technician Technical Diploma. He plans to pursue an apprenticeship as a steam-fitter, leveraging his technical training and hands-on experience to stand out in a competitive field. Continue reading…
Thirteen years after earning his first degree from Moraine Park, Ryan Riley walked the stage once again, this time as a husband, father and the 2022 Student of the Year. Riley came to Moraine Park right out of high school and graduated from the Electricity program in 2009. He was not initially passionate about working as an inside electrician but felt pressured to pick a career path after high school.
Once Riley started in Moraine Park’s EPD program, he excelled. He was named Moraine Park’s Student of the Year and spoke at the Student Awards Banquet and Moraine Park’s Commencement Ceremony. It was because of his humility and authenticity that Riley earned the nomination for the Student of the Year Award. Continue reading…
“It has been 15 long years since my high school class graduated without me,” Delilah Hernandez said at her 2018 GED graduation ceremony. “But the length of time it may have taken me to complete this achievement is not a relevant factor for me tonight. What is relevant is that it has been accomplished.”
These words marked the beginning of an inspiring journey for Hernandez, who has since achieved more than she ever imagined. In 2017, while seven months pregnant, she decided to prioritize her education for the sake of herself and her children.
